Handcrafted T-Stool
The evolution of a reclaimed meditation bench — made to support posture, presence, and sustainability.
About the T-Stool
Built from rescued pine diverted from local carpenter offcuts, the T-Stool gives worthy wood a second life. Every stool shows its own grain and character and, over time, it will collect the small marks of practice—your practice. It’s designed for kneeling (Seiza) meditation so the body can relax while the spine stays tall and the mind stays awake.
Proper Posture, Less Distraction
Good posture matters for meditation. Slouching or hunching is uncomfortable and distracting, and cross-legging isn’t required to go deep. The T-Stool helps you sit upright without strain so you can focus. With the spine aligned, breathing opens up, muscles soften, and it’s easier to stay present without fighting tension or sleepiness. For most people, this means reaching stillness sooner and staying there longer.
Reclaimed Pine, Natural Finish
- Rescued pine from local shops, inspected for strength and feel.
- Finish: food-safe beeswax + mineral oil for a smooth, warm surface. Unfinished option available if you prefer to finish it yourself.
- Pine is a soft wood with gentle give; it will show a history of use—the visible record of your practice.
Design & Use
Two solid pieces seat together by natural, gravity fit. It assembles in seconds and packs flat for travel or storage. The fit is secure while seated. If you rock hard side-to-side and it slips out, simply reseat the base and continue.
Surface note: I personally like using it on carpet for a little grip, but it works on any surface.
